Questions, bugs and feature requests for İlmek go to cihatsalik1@gmail.com. İlmek is made by one person, so a clear description — the craft, the chart size and a screenshot or an exported .ilmek file — gets a fix out fastest.

What is free, and what does İlmek Pro open?

Drawing is free: all four crafts, every one of the 17 templates, unlimited patterns in the Studio, every tool, the live yarn render and the structure check — with no account and no time limit. Pro adds printable chart PDFs, WIF 1.1 loom drafts, the loom draft in the Inspector, Full relax and High detail rendering, charts up to 512 × 512, and 2048 px renders. Yearly with a free trial, monthly, or one lifetime payment.

Why does İlmek render yarn instead of showing a grid?

Because a grid cannot answer the question you actually have. A Metal GPU solver relaxes every yarn centreline under bending, stretch and contact forces, then draws it as a shaded tube with fibre detail and ambient occlusion. You see how the colourwork sits, how hard the floats pull and whether the lace holds its shape — before you cast on.

What are the structure checks telling me?

They flag long floats, stranded floats, unbound ends and unsupported oya loops on the chart while you work. They are warnings about what the cloth will do, not errors: you can draw anything you like and ship it. The point is that you find out at the chart, not at the loom.

How do I get a draft onto my loom?

Export WIF 1.1, which loom and weaving software reads directly. The weaving chart carries threading, treadling, tie-up and lift plan, and the Inspector shows the draft live as you edit. WIF export and the Inspector draft are Pro.

I opened a Pro pattern and the render changed. Why?

A pattern larger than 128 × 128, or saved with Full relax or High detail, still opens on the free tier. The chart keeps its size — it can shrink but not grow — and the render falls back to Light relax and Standard detail. The saved document keeps its Pro setting, so it comes back when Pro does.

Does oya really chart like the other crafts?

Yes, and nothing else charts it at all. Oya is a needle lace of loops anchored to previous loops, so İlmek charts the loop structure and renders it as yarn, with its own structure check for unsupported loops. Three oya templates ship: Küpe Oya, Hanım Penceresi and Balıksırtı Oya.

Does İlmek send anything over the network?

No. The app contains no networking code at all — no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporter. It also asks for no permissions: it cannot read your photos, camera, microphone or contacts. Everything charts, renders and exports on the device.

How do I report a bug in İlmek?

Email cihatsalik1@gmail.com with your device model, iOS or macOS version, the app version shown in Settings, and the steps that produce the problem. A screenshot or screen recording makes it far quicker to fix.

How do I restore a purchase?

Purchases are tied to the Apple ID that made them. Sign in with that Apple ID, open the purchase screen in the app and use Restore. If the restore does not complete, email cihatsalik1@gmail.com with the date of purchase.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are issued by Apple, not by the developer. Use Apple's "Report a Problem" page at reportaproblem.apple.com, or the refund flow in the App Store.

If İlmek: Knitting Pattern Maker is your kind of thing, these live in the same neighbourhood — all made by the same pair of hands.
