İlmek: Knitting Pattern Maker — Terms of Use

İlmek is a pattern studio for iOS (iPhone and iPad) offered by Cihat SALIK ("we," "us," or "our"). It charts weaving, knitting, crochet and oya patterns, renders them as yarn in real time, checks their structure, and exports them as PDF charts, WIF 1.1 loom drafts, PNG renders and .ilmek project files. Drawing is free; a set of export and rendering features is unlocked by İlmek Pro. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your country to consent to use of the App) to use the App. If you are under 18, you should use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3.1 What is free

Every craft, all 17 templates, unlimited patterns in the Studio, every drawing tool, symmetry, selection and undo, the live yarn render at Light relax with Draft and Standard detail, the structure check, charts up to 128 × 128, 1024 px renders and the .ilmek project file. There is no account and no time limit.

3.2 Plans

• Yearly: an auto-renewable subscription with a free trial period shown before purchase.

• Monthly: an auto-renewable subscription.

• Lifetime: a non-consumable one-time purchase. Paid once, it is not a subscription — nothing renews and nothing is billed again.

Any of them unlocks printable chart PDFs, WIF 1.1 loom drafts, the loom draft in the Inspector, Full relax and High detail rendering, charts up to 512 × 512 and 2048 px renders. The exact contents of each plan are described in the App and on its App Store product page and may change as the App develops.

3.3 Billing and Renewal (subscriptions only)

• A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel before the end of the current period.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase and at each renewal.

• Prices are in the currency of your App Store region and may change with notice to the extent allowed by Apple's policies and applicable law.

• Any free trial converts into a paid period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends.

3.4 Cancellation and Refunds

• Cancellation: You may turn off auto-renewal at any time in your device Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions, then select İlmek and turn off renewal. Cancellation stops future charges but does not refund the current period.

• Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple, not by us. To request a refund, use Apple's "Report a Problem" or the refund flow in the App Store. We do not control Apple's refund decisions.

3.5 Restoring and Access After Pro Ends

The lifetime purchase is non-consumable, so you can restore it on your other devices signed in with the same Apple ID using Restore Purchases. When a subscription expires or is cancelled, access to the unlocked features ends at the end of the paid period and the App returns to its free tier. Your patterns are not deleted. A pattern larger than 128 × 128, or saved with Full relax or High detail, still opens: the chart keeps its size — it can shrink, not grow — and the render falls back to Light relax and Standard detail, while the saved document keeps its Pro setting.

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.

• Infringe or misuse the intellectual property or other rights of us or any third party. You are responsible for holding the rights to any design you chart, and for how you use, publish or sell the pattern and the cloth that results.

• Transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content, or use the App to harass or harm others.

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code of the App (except as allowed by mandatory law).

• Circumvent or abuse purchase, subscription, access control, or security features.

• Use the App to build a similar or competing product or service.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.

Your patterns: You keep ownership of the charts you create in the App and of anything you make from them. We claim no rights in them and need no license to them, because they stay on your device.

On-device operation: İlmek charts, renders and exports your work on-device. We do not require an account, and the App contains no networking code: it sends nothing to us or to any third party. It asks for no permissions and cannot read your photo library, camera, microphone or contacts.

Privacy: Collection and use of your data are described in our Privacy Policy at https://apps.cihat.dev/ilmek/privacy-policy/. By using the App, you also agree to that policy.

The App (including its design, code, yarn engine, templates, text, graphics, and the "İlmek" name and branding) is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or other IP except the limited right to use the App as permitted here.

The App's geometry and simulation approach follows published academic work — WeaveCraft (Wu et al., ACM TOG 2020) and Interactive Design of Periodic Yarn-Level Cloth Patterns (Leaf et al., SIGGRAPH Asia 2018) — and uses no code from either project. WIF is an open interchange format; the loom and weaving software that reads it belongs to its own publishers, and İlmek is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by any of them.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not promise that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose.

The yarn render, the structure check and the loom draft are a simulation and a set of calculated warnings, not guarantees. Real yarn, real tension, real fibre and your own hand all vary; a chart that renders cleanly can still behave differently on the needles or the loom. Check a pattern against a swatch before committing a whole piece to it.

We are not responsible for any loss of content (for example, patterns or exports) due to device failure, user action, or other causes. You are responsible for backing up your work as you see fit, for example by exporting a .ilmek project file.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• We (and our affiliates and suppliers) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App or inability to use it.

• Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the App or these Terms shall not exceed the amount you actually paid us for the App and subscriptions in the twelve (12) months before the claim (or, if no payment, zero).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the greatest extent allowed by law.

We may update the App (including features and purchase offerings) from time to time. Where the law requires, we will notify you of material changes to the service or subscription terms.

We may change these Terms. We will post the updated Terms at https://apps.cihat.dev/ilmek/terms-of-use/ and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after the change constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must stop using the App and may cancel your subscription as described in Section 3.4.

Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's applicable terms, including the App Store Terms of Use and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, where relevant. In case of conflict between those and these Terms regarding the App's purchases or use, these Terms govern the relationship between you and us; Apple's terms govern your relationship with Apple.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Turkey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from or related to the App or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Istanbul, Turkey, to the extent permitted by law.

Entire agreement: These Terms (together with our Privacy Policy and any in-app terms we expressly reference) constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.

Severability: If any part of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

No waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not waive that right or provision.
