Earshot: AI Voice Recorder

Support

Questions, bugs and feature requests for Earshot go to cihatsalik1@gmail.com. Earshot is made by one person, so a clear description — your device, the language you were recording in, and whether the problem was in the recording, the transcript or the summary — gets a fix out fastest.

Does Earshot need an internet connection?

No. Recording, transcription, summaries, the evening recap, Ask and search all run on your device — iOS does the speech-to-text and Apple Intelligence writes the summaries. There is no API key to enter and no third-party AI service in the loop. The only traffic Earshot causes is Apple's App Store for purchases, and your own iCloud backup if you switch it on.

Why can my iPhone transcribe but not summarise?

Transcription uses the speech engine built into iOS and works on every supported iPhone and iPad. Summaries, the evening recap and Ask run on Apple Intelligence, which needs a device that supports it and Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings. Where it is unavailable, Earshot still records, transcribes, searches and exports.

Which languages can Earshot transcribe?

Every language the on-device speech engine on your iPhone supports — English, Turkish, German, Spanish, Japanese and many more. Each recording can carry its own language, so a Turkish meeting and an English lecture sit in the same library without one spoiling the other. Set the language before you record for the best result.

Do I need an Apple Watch?

No. The Watch is the convenient way to start a recording without taking the phone out, but everything works from the iPhone alone: recording, marking a moment, transcription, summaries, Ask, search and export.

Is it legal to record a conversation?

That depends on where you are and who is in the room, and it is your responsibility, not the app's. Many places require everyone to know they are being recorded, and some require their consent. Earshot is built for recording your own meetings, lectures, interviews and thoughts — tell people you are recording, and stop when they ask you to.

Where is my audio stored, and can I delete it automatically?

On your device, in the app's own storage, with the transcripts and summaries alongside. iCloud backup is off until you turn it on, and then the data syncs through your own iCloud account, not through a server of ours. In Settings you can have Earshot delete the audio after a set number of days and keep only the text, lock the app behind Face ID or Touch ID, and delete any recording outright.

What is free, and what does Earshot Pro open?

Free: unlimited recording, unlimited transcription, full text search, marked moments, auto-pause zones and five summaries a month. Earshot Pro opens unlimited summaries, the evening recap, Ask your recordings, export to text and Markdown, and the Face ID lock. It is offered as a yearly subscription with a one-week free trial, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.

How do I report a bug in Earshot?

Email cihatsalik1@gmail.com with your device model, iOS or macOS version, the app version shown in Settings, and the steps that produce the problem. A screenshot or screen recording makes it far quicker to fix.

How do I restore a purchase?

Purchases are tied to the Apple ID that made them. Sign in with that Apple ID, open the purchase screen in the app and use Restore. If the restore does not complete, email cihatsalik1@gmail.com with the date of purchase.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are issued by Apple, not by the developer. Use Apple's "Report a Problem" page at reportaproblem.apple.com, or the refund flow in the App Store.

If Earshot: AI Voice Recorder is your kind of thing, these live in the same neighbourhood — all made by the same pair of hands.
