VoxPage: Read Aloud PDF Reader — Terms of Use

VoxPage is a reading application for iOS (iPhone and iPad) offered by Cihat SALIK ("we," "us," or "our"). It imports your documents, reads them aloud with speech that runs on your device, highlights each sentence as it is spoken, and offers speed reading exercises that measure your reading speed and comprehension separately. Part of the App is free to use; the rest is unlocked by VoxPage Premium. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your country to consent to use of the App) to use the App. If you are under 18, you should use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3.1 What is free

The reader and its themes, a library of up to 15 documents, 30 minutes of speech each day, search, table of contents, up to 20 bookmarks per document, three collections, the Speed Test, Word Flash, Guided Reading on the built-in passages, Schulte tables up to 5×5, the default training plan with its reminder, and the last 14 days of Insights. No account is required and there is no time limit on the free tier.

3.2 Plans

• Monthly: an auto-renewable subscription.

• Yearly: an auto-renewable subscription, with a one-week free trial shown before purchase.

Either plan opens an unlimited library, unlimited daily listening, the Sage and Dusk reader themes, unlimited bookmarks and collections, the eye-movement drills, Schulte 6×6 and 7×7, Guided Reading on your own documents, a custom daily goal and practice days, your full Insights history, CSV export of your training history, and the Coral, Turquoise and Saffron accent colours. The exact contents of each plan are described in the App and on its App Store product page and may change as the App develops.

3.3 Billing and Renewal

• A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel before the end of the current period.

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase and at each renewal.

• Prices are in the currency of your App Store region and may change with notice to the extent allowed by Apple's policies and applicable law.

• Any free trial converts into a paid period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends.

3.4 Cancellation and Refunds

• Cancellation: You may turn off auto-renewal at any time in your device Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions, then select VoxPage and turn off renewal. Cancellation stops future charges but does not refund the current period.

• Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple, not by us. Use Apple's "Report a Problem" page or the refund flow in the App Store. We do not control Apple's refund decisions.

3.5 Restore and Access After Premium Ends

A purchase can be restored on your other devices signed in with the same Apple Account using Restore Purchases. When a subscription expires or is cancelled, access to the unlocked features ends at the close of the paid period and the App returns to the free tier. Your library, reading history and training results are not deleted and remain available; listening returns to the free daily allowance, and documents over the free limit stay readable.

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.

• Infringe or misuse the intellectual property or other rights of us or any third party. You are responsible for holding the right to read, store and extract text from anything you import, and for respecting the licence of any book, document or article you bring in.

• Circumvent digital rights management or copy protection on any file. The App refuses DRM-protected files by design and contains no code to remove copy protection.

• Record, redistribute or resell the speech the App generates as an audiobook or other audio product, where the underlying text does not permit it.

• Transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content, or use the App to harass or harm others.

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code of the App or the speech model bundled with it (except as allowed by mandatory law).

• Circumvent or abuse purchase, subscription, access control, or security features.

• Use the App to build a similar or competing product or service.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.

Your content: You keep all rights you already hold in the documents, bookmarks and notes you bring into or create in the App. We claim no rights in them and we do not need a licence to them, because they stay on your device.

On-device operation: Your library, extracted text, reading position, listening time, session history and training results are stored on your device. Text extraction, text recognition, speech and scoring are computed on the device.

Network use: The App makes no network requests of its own. The only traffic it causes goes through Apple's StoreKit for purchases and restores, and through iOS itself when you choose to download a system voice.

Voices: Turkish is read by a neural voice bundled inside the App. Other languages are read by voices that Apple provides and that you install through iOS Settings; their availability, quality and licensing are Apple's, not ours, and we cannot guarantee that a given voice exists for a given language on your device.

Deletion: You can delete any document, clear your training history, or erase everything the App stores from Settings.

Privacy: Collection and use of your data are described in our Privacy Policy at https://apps.cihat.dev/voxpage/privacy-policy/. By using the App, you also agree to that policy.

The App (including its design, code, speech pipeline, reader, exercises, bundled training passages and comprehension questions, text, graphics, and the "VoxPage" name and branding) is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or other IP except the limited right to use the App as permitted here.

The training passages and comprehension questions shipped with the App may be read and used inside the App. They may not be extracted, redistributed, republished or resold as content in their own right.

The App is a reading and training tool, not a medical device, an assistive-technology certification or a treatment. The eye-movement and focus exercises are practice drills: they are not eye therapy and they do not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. We make no promise about how much your reading speed or comprehension will improve, and transfer from any exercise to ordinary reading is not guaranteed.

Reading speed, comprehension scores and trends shown in the App are measurements of your own sessions in the App, not a certified assessment of your reading ability. If you have a concern about your eyes, attention, hearing or reading, consult a qualified professional rather than relying on the App.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not promise that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose.

Text extraction depends on the file you import. Complex layouts, scans and unusual PDFs may produce imperfect text: layout ordering handles one or two columns, footnotes are not separated from the body text, and recognition of a scanned page follows the quality of the scan.

Speech depends on the voice in use. Word-level highlighting with Apple voices relies on callbacks that Apple provides, speech-rate mapping and time estimates are approximate, and pronunciation of names, abbreviations and numbers will not always be correct.

We are not responsible for any loss of content (for example, imported documents, bookmarks, notes or history) due to device failure, user action, or other causes. You are responsible for keeping your original files.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• We (and our affiliates and suppliers) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App or inability to use it.

• Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the App or these Terms shall not exceed the amount you actually paid us for the App and subscriptions in the twelve (12) months before the claim (or, if no payment, zero).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the greatest extent allowed by law.

We may update the App from time to time, including its features and purchase options. Where required by law, we will notify you of material changes to the service or to subscription terms.

We may change these Terms. We will post the updated Terms at https://apps.cihat.dev/voxpage/terms-of-use/ and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after the change constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must stop using the App and may cancel your subscription as described in 3.4.

Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's applicable terms, including the App Store Terms of Use and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, where relevant. In case of conflict between those and these Terms regarding the App's purchase or use, these Terms govern the relationship between you and us; Apple's terms govern your relationship with Apple.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Turkey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from or related to the App or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Istanbul, Turkey, to the extent permitted by law.

Entire agreement: These Terms (together with our Privacy Policy and any in-app terms we expressly reference) constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.

Severability: If any part of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

No waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not waive that right or provision.
