Varak: Foil Invitation Maker

This privacy policy applies to the Varak app (the "Application") for iOS on iPhone and iPad, created by Cihat SALIK (the "Service Provider"). The Application is offered as a service and is intended for use "AS IS".

Varak designs foil-stamped cards — invitations, save-the-dates, greeting cards and business cards — and renders their foil in real time. Your cards, the pictures you put into them and your exports are created and kept on your device.

Varak contains no networking code. It makes no requests to the Service Provider or to any third party, so nothing about you, your device or your cards is ever sent anywhere. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter and no advertising.

The only network traffic connected to the App at all is Apple's own: the App Store downloads and updates it, and StoreKit verifies your purchases. Neither is operated by the Service Provider.

Varak reads only the photos you explicitly pick through the system photo picker. The picker hands the App a single image; it gives the App no access to the rest of your library, and Varak does not scan, index or upload it. The picture you pick is stored inside that card's own project package so the card can be reopened and re-rendered.

Varak asks for camera access only if you choose to photograph something to turn into foil, and the picture goes straight into the card. It asks for permission to add to your photo library only when you save a finished card, a still or a shimmer video. That is add-only access and does not let the App read your library.

Cards, the pictures inside them, version snapshots, motifs, fonts, undo history, exports and your app preferences are stored locally on your device. Version 1.0 of the Application stores its library on the device only; iCloud sync is not enabled. Purchase and subscription state is provided by Apple's StoreKit. This data is not transmitted to the Service Provider.

Varak reads the device's motion sensors so the foil reacts as you tilt the card. The readings are used to light the current frame and nothing else: they are not stored, not written to a file and not sent anywhere. With Reduce Motion on, or on a device without the sensors, you tilt the card by dragging it instead.

The Application contains no analytics or tracking SDK. It shows no third-party advertising, does not require you to create an account with the Service Provider, and does not sell your personal information. If analytics or similar tools are added in a future version, this policy will be updated to describe them.

Varak is free to use within its free tier: three projects, stills at screen size, and 1080p video at 30 fps with a small "Made with Varak" end card. Varak Pro removes those limits and adds 4K and 60 fps video, the PDF/X-4 print export, the holographic and onyx foil family, no end card, and the brand kit. It is offered monthly, yearly, or as one lifetime payment. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. The Service Provider does not receive or store your payment card details. Apple's handling of purchases, renewals and restores is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy practices.

The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through Varak. The Application sends nothing over the network and requires no account, so there is nothing for it to collect.

The security of your on-device cards and pictures depends on your device passcode and biometric settings. The Service Provider recommends keeping iOS up to date and using the device security features offered by Apple.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating this page and the "Last updated" information where shown. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
