Hat: Arabic Calligraphy

This privacy policy applies to the Hat app (the "Application") for iOS on iPhone and iPad, created by Cihat SALIK (the "Service Provider"). The Application is offered as a service and is intended for use "AS IS".

Hat is a calligraphy practice app that teaches Islamic calligraphy and the world's other pen hands with Apple Pencil. It is designed to work fully on your device.

Hat stores what you create in the app — your strokes and practice sheets, lesson and composition progress, earned stars, exam and challenge results, your chosen hands, pen and paper settings, and your practice reminder time — locally on your device.

This data is not transmitted to the Service Provider's servers by the Application for normal operation. The Service Provider does not receive copies of your handwriting, your scores or your settings through Hat.

Hat does not require you to create an account with the Service Provider, does not show third-party advertising inside the app, contains no third-party analytics or tracking software development kits, and does not sell personal information. The Application makes no network requests to the Service Provider. If analytics or similar tools are added in a future version, this policy will be updated to describe them first.

To write and score a stroke, Hat uses input from the touchscreen and Apple Pencil — position, pressure, tilt and timing — along with the device's haptic engine for paper feedback. All of it is processed on the device while you write and is not sent to the Service Provider.

If you turn on the daily practice reminder, Hat schedules a local notification on your device at the time you choose. Local notifications are created and delivered by iOS on the device; no reminder data is sent to the Service Provider or to any server. You can turn the reminder off in the app or revoke notification permission in iOS Settings at any time.

Hat offers full access as a monthly or yearly subscription and as a one-time lifetime purchase. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store, and Apple reports the entitlement to the Application through StoreKit. The Service Provider does not receive or store your payment card details, your Apple Account email, or your name. Apple's handling of purchases is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy practices.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. You manage and cancel a subscription in the App Store, under your Apple Account subscriptions — not in the app.

The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through Hat. Because the Application stores practice data only on the device and requires no account, no personal information is transmitted to the Service Provider.

The security of your on-device data depends on your device passcode and biometric settings. The Service Provider recommends keeping iOS up to date and using the device security features offered by Apple.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating this page and the "Last updated" information where shown. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
