Kanava: Cross Stitch Pattern

This privacy policy applies to the Kanava app (the "Application") for iOS on iPhone and iPad, created by Cihat SALIK (the "Service Provider"). The Application is offered as a service and is intended for use "AS IS".

Kanava converts a photo or a drawing into a counted chart for cross stitch, fuse beads, brick stitch and peyote. Your charts, the photos you put into them, your progress and your exports are created and kept on your device.

Kanava reads only the photos you explicitly pick through the system photo picker. The picker hands the App a single image; it gives the App no access to the rest of your library, and Kanava does not scan, index or upload it.

Colour matching, quantisation, charting, progress tracking and every export run on your device. The photo you pick is stored inside that chart's own project file so the chart can be reopened and re-traced. Nothing you chart is uploaded to the Service Provider's servers or to any third-party service.

Kanava asks for permission to add to your photo library only when you save a PNG preview or a finished-piece image. That is add-only access and does not let the App read your library.

The first time you open Kanava, and only that once, the App sends a single anonymous diagnostic message to an endpoint operated for the Service Provider at api.pushmark.app. It reports the device model and device name as set in iOS Settings, the iOS version, the screen size and scale, the processor count and memory, your locale, language and time zone, and the app version and build.

It carries no account, no advertising identifier, no device identifier that persists across reinstalls, and nothing about your photos, charts or usage. It is sent once per installation and never again — the App records that it has been sent and makes no further network requests. No other screen, action or purchase in Kanava is reported anywhere.

If your device name includes your own name, that name is part of the message. You can change it in Settings → General → About → Name before first opening the App, or block the request entirely by launching the App with no network connection for its first twelve seconds.

Charts, the source photos inside them, palettes, your thread box, progress and session history, undo history, exports and your app preferences are stored locally on your device. Purchase and subscription state is provided by Apple's StoreKit. This data is not transmitted to the Service Provider.

Beyond the one-time first-launch ping described above, the Application contains no analytics or tracking SDK. It shows no third-party advertising, does not require you to create an account with the Service Provider, and does not sell your personal information. If analytics or similar tools are added in a future version, this policy will be updated to describe them.

Kanava is free to use within its free tier. The full version is available as a one-time purchase, and a yearly subscription with a free trial is offered as an alternative; both unlock the PDF chart, DST and PES machine files, unlimited colours, full-size charts, the thread box and the finish-date forecast. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. The Service Provider does not receive or store your payment card details. Apple's handling of purchases and restores is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy practices.

The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through Kanava. The Application charts and stores everything on the device and requires no account; the only message it sends is the one-time, non-identifying launch ping described above.

The security of your on-device charts and photos depends on your device passcode and biometric settings. The Service Provider recommends keeping iOS up to date and using the device security features offered by Apple.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating this page and the "Last updated" information where shown. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
